It is often difficult to tell what a histologically spindle cell nevus actually is without doing immunoperoxidase stains.These include vimentin for mesenchymal tumours,pancytokeratin stains for SCC,desmin and actin for muscle tumours,S100 for neural and melanocytic lesions and CD31,CD34 and ulex stains for vascular neoplasms.
