Comments: Sections show a biopsy of skin in which there is a florid granulomatous reaction surrounding an inflamed and ruptured hair follicle. The granulomas consist of loose collections of histiocytes associated with accumulation of neutrophils. Focal necrosis is also noted within some granulomas. No fungal or mycobacterial organisms can be identified. Some haemorrhage is also present within the granulomatous infiltrate. The features present would be consistent with the granulomatous form of rosacea.
