History: 4724bj This elderly smoker has marked leukoplakia involving his base of tongue and the floor of the mouth. No lumps. How dysplastic is the histopathology? 2 biopsies as indicated

Description: Squamous epithelial dysplasia

Comments: Sections show a biopsies of oral squamous mucosa in which there is compact orthokeratosis and parakeratosis overlying a squamous epithelium with mild to moderate dysplasia. There is a mild infiltrate of lymphocytes in the upper submucosa. There is no evidence of fungal organisms or malignancy.
