History: 2236ah 70 years old male with a 3 month history of this solitary violaceous plaque on the lower abdominal wall. Surface wrinkled. Not indurated, No itch. DD Granulomatous variant of Mycosis fungoides , Morphoea, Granuloma annulare, Lichen sclerosus 2 biopsies

Description: Thick dermal collagen bundles and some perivascular and interstitial inflammation

Comments: There is marked thickening of the dermis by thick horizontal bundles of collagen. There is loss of fat around adnexal structures. There is a mild to moderate infiltrate of lymphocytes around superficial, mid and deep dermal blood vessels as well as some interstitial lymphocytes. The overlying epidermis is mildly atrophic. The features present are those of morphea. Post Script (McColl) This had been biopsied elsewhere and reported as probable granuloma annulare presumably on the "busy dermis" feature.
